This Election: The retired Army chief won by a margin of 5.67 votes from Ghaziabad constituency.
Journey To Cabinet:: Singh landed in a controversy over his age with the Centre. After retirement, he joined the anti-graft movement of Anna Hazare and addressed public meetings in different parts of the country. Later, he joined the BJP. According to sources, Singh also played a role in 1991 Bollywood movie Prahaar.
