Marathas Chiefs after Shivaji went all around India looting and plundering small states, where Rajput chiefs and Kings turned the Maratha tide back and protected their states...
जय राजपुताना
In A.D. 1722 the Maratha freebooters under Kanta Kadam Bande and Pila Gaekwad, made their first foray into Saurashtra (Gujrat). Unfortunately for them, they selected the strong fort of Sihor to attack, and though they made determined onslaughts, they were every time driven back, and finally desisted. Sihor was then under the Chieftanship of the Gohil Sardar, Bhavsinhji who would later go on to build the city of Bhavnagar.
